The Hamlin Chargers outscored the Dell Rapids Quarriers 35-23 in the second half to pull out a 52-48 win at the Entringer Classic in Colman on Friday, December 23rd. Dell Rapids held the lead in the first quarter at 14-8. The Quarriers then extended the lead to 25-17 by halftime. The Chargers cut the Quarrier lead to two by the end of the third quarter at 37-35.
Dell Rapids shot 18-47 (38%) from the field, 3-12 (25%) from the three-point area, and 9-19 (47%) from the free-throw line. The Quarriers had 26 team rebounds, 10 assists, 12 steals, but turned the ball over 13 times. Hamlin finished the game shooting 19-46 (41%) from the field and had 30 team rebounds.
The Quarriers had three players finish in double figures. Aspen Hansen finished with 13 points. Arial Hoffman and Jayda Knuppe both had 12 points in the game. Emma Paul led the team with five rebounds. Knuppe and Hansen both had four rebounds. Hoffman finished the game with five steals.
Dell Rapids (2-2) will play Hanson in the Parkston Classic on Friday, December 30th, at 3:00 p.m.
