De Smet Girls Bounce Back in Win Column at Deuel

A night after suffering a loss to Dell Rapids St Mary, the De Smet Bulldog girls bounced back into the win column with a 53-31 road victory against the Deuel Cardinals on Tuesday, December 19th.

The Bulldogs ended the first quarter with a 10-5 lead.  They added to that lead in the second quarter, but only by a point, and led 18-12 at halftime.  Deuel battled early in the third quarter to pull within a point, 22-21, but the Bulldogs ended the third quarter on a 9-1 run for a 31-22 lead going into the final quarter.  The De Smet offense got rolling in the fourth quarter and scored 22 points while holding the Cardinals to just nine.

Megan Dylla had 18 points, three assists, and three steals.  Hazel Luethmers had 17 points, seven rebounds, and two steals.  Alyssa Asleson added seven points, two rebounds, and two assists.  Mirra Beck had five points, two rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  Brooke Jennings added four points and four rebounds.
