Late Free Throw Sinks Bulldog Girls

A free throw in the closing seconds gave the Oldham-Ramona-Rutland Raiders a 59-58 win over the De Smet Bulldogs on Friday, February 9th.

The Bulldogs led by a point, 17-16, at the end of the first quarter.  They extended the lead to 36-31 by halftime.  The Raiders made a run in the third quarter and took a 45-44 lead into the fourth quarter.  The run continued for Oldham-Ramona-Rutland in the fourth quarter, and they led 51-44 with 6:00 to play.  De Smet rallied and got the score tied 58-58 with under a minute to play.  A made free throw, however, in the closing seconds gave the Raiders the win.

Hazel Luethmers finished with 21 points, five rebounds, and three assists.  Mirra Beck added 11 points, five rebounds, and seven assists.  Brooke Jennings had seven points and five rebounds.  Audi Currier had six points and five rebounds.
