Elks Take Win over Bulldog Girls

The De Smet Bulldog girls hosted the Elkton-Lake Benton Elks on Thursday, February 1st.  The Elks started to pull away midway through the second quarter and took the win 45-23.

De Smet stayed with the Elks in the first quarter, and Elkton-Lake Benton led by just two points, 11-9, at the end of the quarter.  The Elks held the Bulldogs to just two points in the second quarter to help build a 10-point lead, 21-11, by halftime.  The big difference in scoring came in the third quarter when Elkton-Lake Benton outscored De Smet 16-4 to take a 37-15 lead into the fourth quarter.

Hazel Luethmers had 10 points, three rebounds, and three steals.  Aubree Blue had five points and three assists.  Ivey Schoenfelder finished with four points and seven rebounds.  Brooke Jennings added three points and two rebounds.  Megan Dylla had six rebounds and two steals in the game.
