The De Smet Bulldogs hosted the Iroquois/Lake Preston Sharks on Tuesday, October 3rd. The Sharks got the win in straight sets by scores of 25-15, 25-21, and 25-20.
The Bulldogs did start the first set with a 4-0 run. The Sharks responded with a 7-0 run for a 7-4 lead. They continued on a run to a 20-9 lead before winning 25-15. De Smet started the second set with a 5-1 run. Again the Sharks went on a run to tie the score 6-6. Iroquois/Lake Preston slowly built a 17-12 lead, but De Smet responded and tied the score 18-18. After a 20-20 tie, the Sharks finished the set on a 5-1 run for the 25-21 win.
De Smet again started the third set with a 5-3 lead. After the Sharks tied the score 7-7, the two teams were tied 11-11, 14-14, and 17-17. Iroquois/Lake Preston then went on a 4-1 run for a 21-18 lead. They finished the match with a 4-2 scoring advantage.
