The De Smet Bulldog volleyball team hosted the Estelline/Hendricks Redhawks on Thursday, September 28th. The Redhawks won the match in straight sets by scores of 25-18, 25-14, and 25-13.
Estelline/Hendricks started the first set with a 5-0 run. De Smet responded with a 4-0 run to cut the lead to 5-4. The Redhawks stayed in front to a 15-12 score. The Bulldogs went on another 4-0 run and took the lead 16-15. After a 17-17 tie, the Redhawks finished the set on an 8-1 run for the 25-18 win.
Estelline/Hendricks started the second set with a 4-2 lead. De Smet tied the score early 4-4, but the Redhawks went on a 3-0 run to go ahead 7-4. They stayed in front by about three points at 11-8 and 15-12. The Redhawks then went on an 5-0 run for 20-12 lead before winning 25-14.
The momentum carried into the third set for Estelline/Hendricks. They started the set on a 7-2 run and continued to roll from there. They went a head 12-4, had a lead of 17-5, and then won the set by a score of 25-13.
