Season Ends for Bulldog Girls in Region 2B

The De Smet Bulldogs (9-12) had their season come to an end in the opening round of the Region 2B Tournament in Arlington on Tuesday, February 21st.

The Bulldogs took an early 9-2 lead with 5:23 to play in the opening quarter and ended the first quarter leading 13-11.  Castlewood did outscore the Bulldogs 19-13 in the second quarter and led 30-26 at halftime.  De Smet then struggled offensively in the second half.  The Bulldogs were held to just six made field goals and a total of 13 points in the final two quarters.  The Warriors outscored De Smet 34-13 in the second half.

De Smet shot 32% (16-50) overall in the game, 31% (4-13) on three-point attempts, and 43% (3-7) from the free-throw line.  Castlewood shot 43% (24-56) overall, 39% (10-26) on three-point shots, and 86% (6-7) from the free-throw line.

Hazel Luethmers had 15 points, seven rebounds, and two assists.  Jada Burke finished with 13 points, six rebounds, and two assists.  Alysa Asleson added nine points, four rebounds, and two assists.  Mirra Beck ended with two points and two rebounds.
