The Dell Rapids Quarriers hosted the Canton C-Hawks in volleyball action on Tuesday, September 15th during Homecoming Week. The Quarriers rolled to a straight set win by scores of 25-12, 25-15, and 25-12.
Dell Rapids started with an early 4-1 lead in the first set. It didn’t take long for the Quarriers to push the lead to 11-2. The lead then grew to 17-3. Dell Rapids took the first set 25-12. The momentum continued into the second set. The Quarriers started with a 7-0 run. The lead grew to 12-2, but Canton got the deficit back down to seven at 15-8. Dell Rapids ended the second set on a 10-7 scoring advantage for a 25-15 win.
The third set started with a 3-3 tie. The Quarriers led by one point at 6-5 and 8-7 before going on a big run. They extended the lead to 17-10 and then 21-11 before winning the set, and match, 25-12.
During the match, Tenley Witzel recorded her 1,000 career dig.
