The Dell Rapids 14U baseball team ended their regular season with three games in Colton on Saturday, July 11th. They picked up two wins in the three games.
Dell Rapids 14, Volga White 2
A big fourth inning put the game away for Dell Rapids against Volga. Dell Rapids scored two times in the bottom of the first for a 2-0 lead. Volga cut the lead in half, 2-1, with a run in the top of the second. Dell Rapids then scored three in the second and another in the third for a 6-1 lead. After Volga added another run in the fourth, Dell Rapids scored eight times in the bottom of the inning.
Dawson Bunkers had a triple and three RBIs. McKinley Peirson had a hit and two RBIs. Will Price, Maddox Amundson, and Hayes Olinger all had a single and an RBI. Brooks Brende also had a hit. Oakley Wolff and Nolan Katzer each had an RBI.
Dell Rapids 22, Colman-Egan 0
Dell Rapids cruised to a big win against Colman-Egan. They scored three in the top of the first and then exploded for 18 runs in the second. The final run game in the top of the third inning.
Brody Konz had three hits and two RBIs. Brende and Katzer each had a hit with two RBIs. Bunkers, Price, Easton Davis, Amundson, Henry Baker, and Pierson all had a single with an RBI each. Baker pitched three innings and allowed two hits with two strikeouts.
Tri-Valley 6, Dell Rapids 5
Five straight runs by Tri-Valley helped them to a one-run win over Dell Rapids. Each team scored a run in the first inning. Dell Rapids then had three runs in the second and another in the top of the third for a 5-1 lead. Tri-Valley, however, scored three in the bottom of the third and then took the lead, 6-5, with two runs in the bottom of the fourth.
Amundson had two hits and an RBI. Olinger added a single and an RBI. Brende had a hit, and Bunkers finished with an RBI.
