The Dell Rapids Quarrier boys basketball team hosted the Lennox Orioles on Friday, February 20th. The Orioles pulled away in the second half for a 64-47 win.
The two teams battled close in the first quarter, and the Orioles led 15-14 at the end of the quarter. Dell Rapids started the second quarter on a 6-0 run for a 20-15 lead with 6:00 to play in the half. Lennox then held the Quarriers to three points the remainder of the quarter to help them to a 29-23 halftime lead. They would continue to build on their lead throughout the second half. Lennox pushed the lead to 53-39 going into the fourth quarter.
Dell Rapids shot 46% (17-37) overall in the game, 36% (5-14) on three-point attempts, and 67% (8-12) from the free-throw line. Lennox was also 46% (26-56) shooting overall, just 3-23 from three-point area, and 69% (9-13) from the free-throw line.
Camden Jones finished with 10 points and two rebounds. Lincoln Anderson had seven points and two rebounds. Jackson Peppel also finished with seven points. Carson Maeschen ended with six points. Kaden Smith and Jace Brende both had five points each.
