The Dell Rapids Quarrier volleyball team took a straight-set match win over the Garretson Blue Dragons at home on Tuesday, September 23rd. Dell Rapids won by the same 25-13 score in all three sets.
The Blue Dragons started the first set with a quick 2-0 lead. Dell Rapids quickly tied the score at 6-6. The Quarriers then scored the next seven points for a 13-6 lead. That advantage grew to 22-11 before they won 25-13.
The second set started with a 2-2 tie. Dell Rapids took a one-point lead at 5-4 and continued to lead by a point at 8-7. The Quarriers then went on a 5-0 run to extend the lead to 13-7. They continued to ride the momentum to a 23-11 win before capturing the second set 25-13.
Dell Rapids took a quick 4-1 lead to start the third set. Garretson would tie the score 4-4, but the Quarriers regain the lead at 8-6. They slowly kept extended the lead to scores of 11-8 and 15-9. Dell Rapids then went on a 6-2 run for a 21-11 score on their way to another 25-13 win.
Madelynn Henry finished with 13 kills, three ace serves, and six digs. Peyton Hohn added nine kills, two blocks, and an ace. Sylea Sykes had seven kills, three digs, and three set assists. Elin Schoenhard had four kills and four ace serves. Tenley Anderson finished with 27 set assists, four digs, and an ace. Alaina Wolff had six digs and five ace serves.
