A day after defeating the #1 Dakota Valley Panthers, the Dell Rapids Quarriers traveled to Vermillion on Tuesday, October 8th. The Quarriers cruised to a straight set win by scores of 25-9, 25-4, 25-4.
Fast starts in each of the three sets set the tone for Dell Rapids in the match. They started the first set with a 7-2 run. The lead grew to 15-6 and then 22-9 before the Quarriers won 25-9. Dell Rapids started the second set with an 11-1 run. They led 18-4 and scored the final seven points for the win in the second set. The third set started similarly with Dell Rapids taking a 9-1 lead. The Quarriers extended the lead to 17-4 and then finished the match on an 8-1 run.
Karlie Ingalls and Clara Justice both finished with six ace serves on the night. Justice also had four digs. Madelynn Henry had 13 kills and four ace serves. Lauryn Kloth added 10 kills and four blocks. Sophi Randall ended with 30 set assists and four blocks.
