DELL RAPIDS — Dell Rapids put together a steady, in-control performance on Friday, October 23rd, on senior night sweeping Tri-Valley 3-0 (25-14, 25-14, 25-16) at Dell Rapids High School.
The Quarriers set the tone right away in the first set, turning a 1-1 start into a quick cushion. Dell Rapids surged to 6-1, then kept stretching the lead at every checkpoint — 12-3, 17-4, and 22-9 — before closing out the opener 25-14.
Set two followed a similar script. Tri-Valley stayed close early (2-2, 5-5), but Dell Rapids began to separate at mid-set, moving in front 9-6 and 11-10 before ripping off a big run to take control at 21-11. The Quarriers finished it off, again 25-14, to take a 2-0 lead.
Tri-Valley made its best push in the third set, but Dell Rapids answered each time. The Quarriers led most of the way (4-1, 7-4, 10-7, 14-8), then the Mustangs cut it tight at 14-13. Dell Rapids responded with a strong finish, rebuilding separation to 19-13 and 22-14 before sealing the sweep 25-16.
