The Dell Rapids Quarrier volleyball team put together another strong match to earn their 10th straight win on Thursday, September 25th. Dell Rapids defeated the Flandreau Fliers in Flandreau in straight sets by scores of 25-18, 25-15, and 25-7.
The opening set started with a 2-2 tie. Dell Rapids then took a 4-3 lead, but Flandreau went on a 3-1 run to go in front 6-5. The Quarriers regained the lead at 10-7, but the Fliers pulled within a point 12-11. That’s when Dell Rapids made a run. The Quarriers went on an 11-0 run to make the score 23-11. Flandreau fought back to a 24-18 score, but Dell Rapids ended the set with the 25-18 win.
The Quarriers got out to a quick 8-2 lead to start the third set. Flandreau cut the lead down to four points, 10-6, but this time Dell Rapids did not allow a big rally. The Quarriers pushed the lead to 18-10 and then 24-13 before taking the second set 25-15. That momentum carried into the third set. Dell Rapids started with a 5-0 lead and kept rolling from there. They led 12-4 and then 15-7 before ending the set, and match, on a 10-0 run.
