Celebrating senior night the Dell Rapids Quarrier football team rolled past the Milbank Bulldogs on Friday, September 19th. Dell Rapids defeated the Bulldogs 36-7 in their first home game of the 2025 season.
1st Half
The Quarriers got on the board with 9:49 left in the opening quarter. Kenny Swanson had a one-yard touchdown run. Ryan Stubbe scored the two-point conversion for an 8-0 lead. On the ensuing kickoff, Milbank fumbled the ball, and the Quarriers recovered. Moments later Stubbe scored on a four-yard touchdown run with 9:03 to go. Swanson this time made the two-point conversion for a 16-0 lead. The first quarter ended with the same 16-0 score.
Dell Rapids was able to set up another score in the second quarter. Drake Eastman connected with Devin Lodmell for 83 yards. That play led to a four-yard touchdown run by Stubbe with 7:40 to play in the half. Kirti Pickard made the extra point for a 23-0 lead. Stubbe found the end zone again with 2:11 left in the second. This time he scored on a 30-yard run. The extra point was no good, and the Quarriers led 29-0 going into halftime.
2nd Half
Swanson had his second rushing touchdown with 7:02 to play in the third quarter on a six-yard run. Pickard made the extra point to make the score 36-0. Milbank scored with 10:20 to play in the game on an 18-yard touchdown run. They also made the extra point.
Dell Rapids finished with 376 yards of offense, 284 rushing yards and 92 passing yards. Milbank had 183 yards of offense, 66 rushing yards and 117 passing yards. Dell Rapids was 5-11 on third down, while the Bulldogs were 2-10.
Final Stats
Swanson had 10 carries for 74 yards and two touchdowns. Stubbe ended with seven carries for 67 yards and three touchdowns. Eastman was 2-5 passing for 92 yards. Lodmell had a catch for 83 yards, and Karson Paye had a catch for nine yards. Jace Brende had 4.5 tackles. Swanson had four tackles. Lodmell, Eastman, and Stubbe all had three tackles each.
Dell Rapids will host Tri-Valley for Homecoming on Friday, September 26th. Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m.
