The Dell Rapids Quarrier volleyball team hosted the Canton C-Hawks and took a straight-set win on Tuesday, September 16th. The Quarriers won by scores of 25-7, 25-18, and 25-18.
Dell Rapids took an early 3-1 lead to start the first set and just cruised from there. The lead grew to 11-2, 15-4, and 21-5 before the Quarriers ended the set 25-7.
Canton rebounded between sets and started the second set with a 4-1 lead. They held the lead at 6-4 and 8-7. Dell Rapids went in front 10-9 and then went on a 5-3 run to extend the lead to 15-12. They continued to lead by three, 18-15, before ending on a 7-3 run for a 25-18 win.
The C-Hawks started the third set with a 4-0 run. They extended the lead to 7-2. The Quarriers rallied to take an 11-9 lead. Canton tied the score 12-12, but Dell Rapids went on a 5-1 run for a 17-13 lead. Canton got within a point, 19-18, but the Quarriers ended the match on a 6-0 run.
Tenley Anderson had 23 set assists, six digs, and three ace serves. Elin Schoenhard finished with eight kills, five digs, and four ace serves. Madelynn Henry added 13 kills, six digs, and two ace serves. Alaina Wolff had seven digs, four set assists, and two ace serves. Sylea Sykes had eight digs, five kills, and three set assists. Peyton Hohn added eight kills and a block, and Karlie Ingalls had three kills.
