After dropping a couple of games, the Dell Rapids Phils picked up three straight wins in three days between Thursday, July 10th and Saturday, July 12th. Two of the three wins were by shutout.
Dell Rapids 1, Clark/Willow Lake 0
Drake Eastman scored on an error in the top of the first inning, and that was the only run of the game in a defensive battle with Clark/Willow Lake on July 10th. The two teams combined for just five hits in the game, four of those by Dell Rapids.
Jake Heinitz had two of the four hits. Eastman and Jackson Peppel each had one hit. Tad Tjaden pitched all seven innings and allowed just one hit and one walk while recording 17 strikeouts.
Dell Rapids 8, Rattlers 0
On July 11th the offense came alive for Dell Rapids against the Rattlers. They scored a run in the top of the first, four in the third, two in the fifth, and one more in the sixth in an 8-0 win. Cole Ruesink pitched six innings and allowed just one hit and one walk while striking out nine batters.
Eastman had two hits, one a double, and two RBIs. Ruesink and Gauge Bunkers each had two hits. Tjaden and Talan Millage both had a single and an RBI. Heinitz also collected a hit.
Dell Rapids 10, Lennox 2
In their third game in three days, Dell Rapids started the game with Lennox on July 12th with three runs in the bottom of the first. The score remained 3-0 until the fifth inning. Lennox scored two times in the top of the inning to cut the lead to 3-2. Dell Rapids then rallied for seven runs in the bottom of the inning for the 10-2 win.
Connor Hanson had two hits, one a double, and three RBIs. Ruesink had the other hit for Dell Rapids. Eastman, Bunkers, Millage, Lincoln Fersdahl, and Matthew Nelson all had one RBI each. Eastman pitched five innings and allowed two runs, both unearned, on two hits and four walks with seven strikeouts.
