The Dell Rapids 14U Red team traveled to Elkton on Tuesday, July 8th and came home with a 14-1 victory in five innings.
Dell Rapids scored a run in the first and two more in the second for a 3-0 lead. The third and fourth innings is where Dell Rapids did most of the scoring. They had five runs in the third and four more in the fourth to extend the lead to 12-0. Dell Rapids added two more in the top of the fifth. Elkton scored a run in the bottom of the fifth, but the game ended on the 10-run rule.
Cam Jones had two hits and two RBIs. Harper Hansen had two hits, one a double, and an RBI. Brooks Brende and Lucas Peppel both had two singles and an RBI each. Charlie Bollock added a triple and an RBI. Eli Pavlis had a hit. Jager Prinsen had two RBIs, and Dawson Bunkers had one RBI.
Jones pitched three innings and allowed a hit and a walk with six strikeouts. Bunkers pitched two innings and allowed an unearned run on two hits and two walks with one strikeout.
