Late Rally Helps PBR to Extra-Inning Win

PBR scored four times in the top of the ninth inning, held Madison to force extra innings, and then scored two more in the top of the 10th to get a 10-8 win over Madison Dairy Queen on Sunday, June 15th.

Madison scored the first five runs of the game.  They scored three in the bottom of the first and two in the second for a 5-0 lead.  PBR finally got on the board with a run in the top of the fifth inning.  Madison got the run back in the bottom of the sixth and led 6-1 after six innings.  PBR closed the gap, 6-4, with three runs in the top of the seventh.  Dell Rapids took the lead for the first time, 8-6, with four runs in the top of the ninth inning.  Madison rallied to tie the game, 8-8, and force extra innings.  Drew Sweeter had an RBI single in the top of the 10th inning and later scored on an error helping PBR to the 10-8 win.

Zach Puetz had three hits, including a home run and double, and two RBIs.  Tanner Solberg had two hits and two RBIs.  Sweeter finished with two singles and an RBI.  Conner Spindler had a single and double with an RBI.  Weston Hansen ended with two hits.  Chris Kropuenske and Riley Hoffman both had a single and an RBI.  Trey Randel had a hit, and Beau Behrend had an RBI.

Hoffman pitched six innings and allowed six earned runs on eight hits and three walks with two strikeouts.  Solberg pitched two innings and allowed a hit and two walks.  Sweeter also pitched two innings and allowed two earned runs on four hits and a walk with three strikeouts.
