Dell Rapids held off a Baltic rally in the top of the seventh to get a 4-3 win at home on Monday, April 28th.
Dell Rapids scored two runs right away in the bottom of the first inning when Cole Ruesink scored on a passed ball and Jackson Peppel stole home. The score remained 2-0 until the top of the third when Baltic scored a run to make the score 2-1. Dell Rapids added two more runs in the bottom of the fourth to extend the lead to 4-1 after Tad Tjaden stole home and Lincoln Fersdahl had an RBI triple.
The score stood at 4-1 until the top of the seventh. Gavin Skotvold had an RBI double with no outs to cut the lead to 4-2. After a strikeout and groundout, Elias Oakley had an RBI double to make the score 4-3. With the tying run on second with two outs, the game ended on a groundout to third base.
Fersdahl ended with a triple and an RBI. Ruesink, Peppel, and Connor Hanson all had one single each. Ryan Stubbe pitched six innings and allowed two earned runs on five hits and four walks with six strikeouts. Talan Millage pitched one inning and allowed an earned run on two hits with one strikeout.
