Dell Rapids and Sioux Falls Lincoln combined for just three hits and the two pitching staffs combined to record 18 strikeouts in a 2-1 win for Sioux Falls Lincoln on Friday, April 25th.
Each team took advantage of errors by the other. Dell Rapids scored in the bottom of the first when Drake Eastman scored on an error by the catcher. Both teams struggled to drive home runs throughout the game, and the score remained 1-0 until the top of the fifth. Sioux Falls Lincoln took advantage of a single, walk, and an error to score two runs in the fifth to go ahead 2-1. Dell Rapids loaded the bases in the sixth inning but was unable to score.
Cooper Frost had the only hit of the game for Dell Rapids. Tad Tjaden pitched all seven innings and allowed two runs, one earned, on two hits and three walks with 11 strikeouts.
