The Dell Rapids high school baseball team finally had their first home game of the season on Tuesday, April 22nd. They hosted West Central and earned an 8-2 victory in the contest.
Dell Rapids scored a run in the bottom of the first and another in the second for a 2-0 lead. They would score two runs in the third inning and then had a four-run bottom of the fourth to extend the lead to 8-0. West Central scored both of their runs in the top of the sixth.
Cole Ruesink had two hits in the game, one of them a double. Talan Millage had two singles. Ryan Brandenburg had a single and an RBI. Tad Tjaden and Carson Maeschen both had one hit each. Cooper Frost had two RBIs, and Matt Nelson finished with one RBI.
Drake Eastman pitched four innings and allowed just one hit and two walks with eight strikeouts. Lincoln Fersdahl pitched three innings and allowed two runs, both unearned, on two hits and a walk with two strikeouts.
