Late Rally Puts Dell Rapids Baseball Back in Win Column

Dell Rapids rallied in the top of the seventh inning to get an 11-9 win over Canton on Sunday, April 13th.

Each scored three times in the opening inning.  Dell Rapids added another four runs in the top of the second for a 7-3 lead.  Canton got two runs in the bottom of the third to make the score 7-5.  They would take the lead, 9-7, with four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.  The score remained 9-7 going into the seventh.  Dell Rapids plated four runs in the top of the seventh without recording a hit.  Canton was retired in order in the bottom of the seventh to end the game.

Tad Tjaden, Jackson Peppel, and Connor Hanson all had two hits and an RBI each.  Brandon Schmidt also finished with a single.  Cole Ruesink had two RBIs.  Cooper Frost and Drake Eastman each had an RBI.  Ryan Brandenburg pitched 4 2/3 innings and allowed seven runs, but just one earned, on three hits and four walks with five strikeouts.  Ruesink allowed two earned runs on a hit and three walks.  Lincoln Fersdahl pitched 2 1/3 innings and struck out four batters.
