Dell Rapids Girls Beat Deuel at Dak-12/NEC Clash

The Dell Rapids Quarrier girls defeated the Deuel Cardinals at the Dak-12/NEC Conference Clash in Madison by a score of 60-45 on Saturday, February 8th.

The Quarriers worked themselves into a nine-point lead, 21-12, by the end of the first quarter.  Deuel reversed the script in the second quarter.  The Cardinals outscored Dell Rapids 15-5 to take a 27-26 lead into halftime.

Deuel pushed their lead to three points, 31-28, with 6:15 to play in the third quarter.  The game was tied 31-31 with 4:00 to play in the third quarter.  That’s when Dell Rapids got rolling offensively.  They finished the third quarter on a 12-6 run for a 43-37 lead going into the fourth quarter.  The Quarriers then outscored Deuel 17-8 in the final quarter to get the win.

Rorie Thoreson, named the game’s MVP, finished with 23 points.  Elly Olson and Elin Schoenhard both had seven points each.  Taylor Schmidt, Clara Justice, and Jersi Schultz all had six points each.  Josie Price added five points.
