Dell Rapids Girls Get Back into Win Column with Home Victory

The Dell Rapids Quarrier girls snapped a three-game losing streak and got back into the win column with a 65-35 win over the Baltic Bulldogs at home on Monday, February 3rd.

The Quarriers got out to a big lead by the end of the first quarter, 22-8.  They pushed the lead to over 20 points in the second quarter, but Baltic got the lead down to 39-20 by halftime.  After the Bulldogs got within 17 points early in the third quarter, Dell Rapids went on a big run in the third quarter and led 61-35 going into the fourth quarter.

Dell Rapids shot 41% (26-64) overall in the game, 43% (6-14) on three-point attempts, and 54% (7-13) from the free-throw line.  Baltic finished the game shooting 35% (13-37) overall, 1-8 on three-point shots, and 44% (8-18) from the free-throw line.  The Quarrier defense forced 29 turnovers in the game, 18 of those on steals.

Jersi Schultz had 18 points, six rebounds, and four steals.  Rorie Thoreson also had 18 points with six assists and four steals.  Josie Price and Elly Olson both had six points and four rebounds each.  Olson also had four assists.  Kassidee Stykel ended with six points as well.  Elin Schoenhard had five points and six rebounds.  Clara Justice had six rebounds and five steals.
