Early Run Leads to Milbank Win over Quarrier Girls

The Milbank Bulldogs started the game on a 14-0 run and never trailed in a 64-45 win over the Dell Rapids Quarriers on Saturday, January 18th.

After the big run to start the game, Milbank led 16-5 at the end of the first quarter.  The Quarriers were able to cut into the lead in the second quarter.  The Bulldogs led by just seven, 23-16, at halftime.  The Quarriers stayed within the 10-point range for most of the third quarter.  Milbank led 46-34 going into the fourth quarter.   The Bulldogs extended their lead to 57-38 with 3:15 to play before winning 64-45.

The Quarriers shot just 22% (12-55) from the field overall, 29% (7-24) from three-point area, and 78% (14-18) from the free-throw line.  The Bulldogs shot 41% (25-61) overall, 36% (5-14) on three-point shots, and 56% (9-16) from the free-throw line.

Elin Schoenhard finished with nine points, seven rebounds, and two assists.  Rorie Thoreson had eight points, three rebounds, and two assists.  Mya DeStigter added seven points.  Jersi Schultz had six points, seven rebounds, and three steals.  Taylor Schmidt also had six points.
