The Dell Rapids Quarrier volleyball team is headed back to the State A Tournament. Dell Rapids defeated the Aberdeen Roncalli Cavaliers in the SoDak 16 in straight sets on Tuesday, November 12th. The Quarriers won by scores of 25-19, 25-13, and 25-8.
Dell Rapids took an early 4-2 lead to start the match. They extended the lead to four points, 10-6, but Roncalli put together a little rally to pull within a point, 11-10. Dell Rapids was able to stop the rally and went on an 8-2 run for a 19-12 lead. The Cavaliers cut the lead down to three points, 22-19, but Dell Rapids scored the final three points for a 25-19 win.
The Quarriers started the second set with another 4-2 lead. Dell Rapids would keep the lead throughout the entire set. They slowly extended the lead to 14-6. The Cavaliers trailed 16-10, but Dell Rapids then went on a 6-1 run for a 22-11 lead. The Quarriers won 25-13. Momentum stayed with Dell Rapids throughout the third set. Dell Rapids cruised through the set and held leads of 13-4, 15-5, and 18-6 before taking the win 25-8.
Sophi Randall finished with 29 set assists, eight kills, five digs, six ace serves, and two blocks. Madelynn Henry had 16 kills and six digs. Lauryn Kloth added seven kills and two blocks. Karlie Ingalls ended with five kills and four ace serves. Clara Justice had three ace serves and three digs. Peyton Hohn finished with six kills, and Alaina Wolff had six digs.
The Quarriers will face Winner in the opening round of the State A Tournament on Thursday, November 21st.
