The Dell Rapids Quarrier volleyball team won their final regular season match in Beresford on Tuesday, October 29th. The Quarriers won in straight sets over the Watchdogs by scores of 25-11, 25-9, and 25-17.
After an early 3-3 tie to start the first set, Dell Rapids went on a 9-4 run for a 12-7 advantage. They continued their run to extend the lead to 19-9 and then 22-11 before winning 25-11. The Quarries started the second set with a 4-1 run. Beresford stayed within four points, 9-5, but Dell Rapids went on a 5-0 run for a 14-5 lead. They extended the lead to 19-7 and took the win 25-9. Dell Rapids started the third set with another 4-1 lead. The Watchdogs got within a point at 9-8 and again at 12-11. The Quarriers then went on a 9-4 run to push the lead to 21-15 before winning the match with a 25-17 final score.
Madelynn Henry finished with 15 kills, two ace serves, and five digs. Peyton Hohn had nine kills, two blocks, and three digs. Sophi Randall ended with five kills, two blocks, and 33 set assists. Lauryn Kloth added nine kills and two blocks. Clara Justice had four kills, three ace serves, and three digs. Karlie Ingalls finished with two kills, three ace serves, two blocks, and six digs. Alaina Wolff had eight digs, five set assists, and two ace serves.
