The Dell Rapids Quarriers hosted the Sioux Falls Christian Chargers in the final regular season home game of the year on Friday, October 18th. The Chargers spoiled senior night for the Quarriers with a 21-0 win.
Most of the first half was scoreless between the two teams. The Chargers got their first touchdown on a nine-yard pass with 3:49 to play in the second quarter. The extra point put the score at 7-0. The score remained 7-0 at halftime.
Sioux Falls Christian got two scores in the third quarter. The first score came on their opening drive of the second half. They had a 60-yard touchdown pass with 10:46 to play in the quarter. The extra point pushed the score to 14-0. The Chargers scored again late in the third quarter on a five-yard run with 4:13 to play in the third quarter.
Dell Rapids had 223 yards of total offense, 95 passing yards and 128 rushing yards. Sioux Falls Christian had 268 yards of offense, 159 passing yards and 109 rushing yards. The Quarriers were just 2-13 on third down attempts and turned the ball over four times. The Chargers were 5-10 on third down and had two turnovers.
Cole Ruesink had 20 carries for 84 yards. Cooper Frost was 7-19 passing for 95 yards and three interceptions. Devin Lodmell had a catch for 30 yards. Ruesink had three receptions for 21 yards. Ryan Stubbe added a catch for 20 yards. Kenny Swanson had a catch for 14 yards, and Tad Tjaden had a catch for 10 yards. Swanson led the defense with seven tackles on the night. Frost finished with 3.5 tackles. Will Ronshaugen had three tackles and an interception. Ruesink, Drake Eastman, and Tjaden all had 2.5 tackles each.
