The Dell Rapids Quarrier volleyball team reached the 20-win mark with a road win at Lennox on Thursday, October 3rd. The Quarriers won by scores of 25-15, 23-25, 25-15, and 25-21. During the match, Sophi Randall hit 3,000 career set assists.
Dell Rapids was able to pull away from Lennox in the first set. After a 3-3 tie, the Quarriers led 9-6 and then 11-9. Lennox scored the next three points for a 12-11 advantage, but Dell Rapids when on a big run. They held Lennox to just three more points and won 25-15. The two teams went back and forth in the second set. Lennox had a 7-6 lead, but Dell Rapids went in front 11-9. The Quarriers pushed the lead to 14-11, but the Orioles would tie the score 17-17. Lennox regained the lead and went in front 22-19. Dell Rapids tied the score 23-23, but Lennox scored the final two points for a 25-23 win.
The Quarrier got out to a fast start in the third set. They led 4-1 and pushed that lead to 16-5. The advantage went to double digits, 21-11, and Dell Rapids took the win 25-15. The Orioles started fast in the fourth set and jumped out to a 7-3 lead. The Quarriers rallied to a 7-7 tie and then a 9-7 lead. That run kept Dell Rapids in front the rest of the match. They pushed the lead to 17-12. Lennox rallied to get within two points, 22-20, but Dell Rapids finished with a 3-1 run for the 25-21 win.
Randall finished with 40 set assists, nine kills, seven digs, four blocks, and four ace serves. Madelynn Henry had 19 kills, four ace serves, and three blocks. Peyton Hohn added five kills and five blocks. Clara Justice had nine digs and four kills. Karlie Ingalls finished with eight digs and three kills. Alaina Wolff had four set assists and four digs. Lauryn Kloth tallied 13 kills.
