The Dell Rapids Quarrier volleyball team won their second match in as many days on Tuesday, September 17th. Dell Rapids traveled to Canton and defeated the C-Hawks in straight sets by scores of 27-25, 25-17, and 25-10.
The Quarriers opened the match with a 7-4 lead. Canton chipped away and tied the score 11-11. Dell Rapids responded with a 6-1 run for a 17-12 lead. Once again the C-Hawks made a run and tied the score 21-21. The teams traded points and the score was tied again 25-25. Dell Rapids was able to take the final two points for a 27-25 win.
After a 3-3 run to start the second set, Dell Rapids went on a 7-0 run for a 10-3 lead. Canton then went on a 10-5 run to cut the lead to 15-13, but that was as close as they would get. The Quarriers pushed the lead to 22-15 before winning 25-17. Dell Rapids took that momentum into the third set. They started on a 6-1 run and pushed that lead to 17-6. The Quarriers finished the match with a 25-10 set win.
