The Dell Rapids Phils put themselves in a great position in the Region 2B Tournament after a 6-1 win over Madison on Thursday, July 25th.
Tad Tjaden dazzled on the mound throwing six innings and allowing an unearned run on two hits and three walks with 11 strikeouts. The offense helped in just about every inning of the game. Dell Rapids scored two runs in the first for a 2-0 lead. They added single runs in the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth innings to go ahead 6-0. Madison got on the board with a run in the bottom of the sixth. Konrad Richael pitched the bottom of the seventh and recorded two strikeouts to close out the win.
Tjaden also had two hits offensively, one a double, and an RBI. Drake Eastman also had two hits, one a triple. Talan Millage added a double and three RBIs. Mason Stubbe also had a double with an RBI. CJ Smith had a single and an RBI. Treyse Eastman and Sutton Williams also had one hit each.
