The Dell Rapids Phils won their first game in the Region 2B Tournament in Madison on Wednesday, July 24th. Dell Rapids defeated Baltic/Colton 13-8.
The Phils struck first with three runs in the bottom of the first. Baltic/Colton cut the lead to 3-2 with two runs in the top of the third. Dell Rapids got two runs themselves in the bottom of the third to make the score 5-2. Baltic/Colman scored three times in the top of the fourth to tie the game 5-5.
Dell Rapids rebounded from the tie score and scored four runs in the bottom of the fourth to go back in front 9-5. Baltic/Colman would chip away at the lead over the next two innings. They got two in the fifth and another in the sixth to get within a run, 9-8. Dell Rapids secured the win with a four-run bottom of the sixth.
Treyse Eastman had two singles and two RBIs. Drake Eastman also had two hits, one a double, and an RBI. CJ Smith had a double with three RBIs. Lincoln Fersdahl had a home run and two RBIs. Konrad Richeal added a hit and an RBI. Talan Millage finished with a double. Tad Tjaden, Mason Stubbe, and Sutton Williams all had one hit each. Cole Ruesink had an RBI.
Fersdahl pitched 3 1/3 innings and allowed five runs, four earned, on four hits and seven walks with two strikeouts. Millage threw 1 2/3 innings and gave up three earned runs on three hits and a walk with one strikeout. Richeal pitched two innings and did not allow a hit or walk.
