Phils Can’t Keep Pace with Madison

The Dell Rapids Phils suffered a 12-2 setback in Madison on Tuesday, July 16th.

Sutton Williams was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the top of the first inning to give Dell Rapids a 1-0 lead.  That was the only lead Dell Rapids had.  Madison scored three runs in the bottom of the first and then five more in the second to take an 8-1 lead.  Treyse Eastman had an RBI sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth for an 8-2 score, but Madison scored four more times in the bottom of the fifth to end the game on the 10-run rule.

Tad Tjaden and Mason Stubbe had the only two hits in the game for the Phils.  Williams and Eastman each had an RBI.  Quinn Carr pitched one inning and allowed six earned runs on a hit and four walks with one strikeout.  Will Zwach pitched 3 2/3 innings and allowed six runs, two earned, on five hits and two walks with four strikeouts.
