Dell Rapids 16U held off a seventh-inning rally by West Central to earn a 4-3 win at home on Monday, July 15th:
West Central scored in the top of the second inning to take a 1-0 lead. Dell Rapids would tie the game with a run in the bottom of the fourth inning. The score remained tied 1-1 until the bottom of the sixth inning. Dell Rapids scored three times to go ahead 4-1. West Central rallied for two runs in the top of the seventh and had the bases loaded with two outs, but a pop out to the pitcher ended the game.
Jackson Peppel finished with two hits and an RBI. Gauge Bunkers added a single with an RBI. Connor Hanson had one RBI. Hanson pitched 5 1/3 innings and allowed an unearned run on five hits and two walks with two strikeouts. Peppel pitched 1 2/3 innings and allowed two unearned runs on a hit and three walks with two strikeouts.
