Playing in their first home game in several weeks, the Dell Rapids Phils cruised to an 11-1 win over Madison on Monday, July 8th.
The offense built a seven-run lead through four innings of play. The Phils scored a run in the bottom of the first, three in the second, two in the third, and one more in the fourth for a 7-0 lead. Madison got their lone run in the top of the fifth. Dell Rapids scored two more times in the bottom of the fifth and again in the sixth to end the game on the 10-run rule.
Talan Millage had two singles and three RBIs. CJ Smith finished with two singles and two RBIs. Drake Eastman and Sutton Williams both had two hits each. Treyse Eastman added a single and an RBI. Tad Tjaden ended with a hit. Cooper Frost and Brandon Schmidt had one RBI apiece.
Lincoln Fersdahl pitched 5 2/3 innings and allowed an unearned run on two hits and a walk with three strikeouts. Quinn Carr pitched 1/3 of an inning allowing three walks.
