Mudcats Take Win over Salem to Remain Unbeaten

The Dell Rapids Mudcats remained unbeaten after an 8-3 win over Salem on Tuesday, July 2nd.

Both teams scored a run in the first inning for a 1-1 score.  The Mudcats got a single run in the top of the third and two more in the fifth for a 4-1 lead.  They added three more runs in the top of the seventh to extend the lead to 7-1.  Their final run came in the top of the eighth to go ahead 8-1.  Salem would score two times in the bottom of the eighth.

Mark Amundson had a big offensive day for the Mudcats with three hits, including two home runs, and three RBIs.  Carter Gullickson added two hits, one a triple.  Josh Roemen had two hits, including a double.  Kris Regas and Ty Hoglund also had one hit each.  Regas was the winning pitcher after tossing seven innings allowing one run on two hits with 17 strikeouts.
