Two Big Innings Propel Dell Rapids 16U to Win over Madison

The Dell Rapids 16U baseball team used two big innings to help them to a 13-3 win over Madison Maroon at home on Wednesday, June 26th.

Madison broke a scoreless tie with a run in the top of the second inning.  Dell Rapids had their first big inning in the bottom of the second, scoring five times for a 5-1 lead.  Madison cut the lead to 5-3 with a two-run top of the fourth inning.  Dell Rapids, however, would end the game on the 10-run rule with a eight-run bottom of the fifth inning.

Jackson Peppel had two hits and two RBIs.  Ryan Stubbe added two singles and an RBI.  Gage Bunkers also had two hits.  Carson Maeschen finished with a single and two RBIs.  Jack Paterson and Kaiden Zellmer both had a hit and an RBI each.  Luke Symens added a single.  Connor Hanson, Jace Brende, and Jake Heinitz all had one RBI each.

Peppel pitched all five innings and allowed three runs, one earned, on three hits and four walks with seven strikeouts.
