After rain postponed the annual “Take Me out to the Ballgame” contest between the Dell Rapids Mudcats and Dell Rapids PBR, the Mudcats won the rescheduled game 10-0 on Tuesday, June 25th.
The Mudcats broke a scoreless tie in the fourth inning with two-run home runs by Kole Zimmerman and Dalton Allen. Spencer Freudenthal started the fifth inning with a solo home run. Dusty Haffeman had a two-run single in the five-run fifth for the Mudcats. They scored their 10th run in the seventh inning. Kris Regan pitched the full game allowing five hits while striking out 17 batters.
Zach Puetz had a double for Dell Rapids PBR. Riley Calhoon, Weston Hansen, Drew Sweeter, and Jordan Solberg all had a single in the game for PBR. Beau Behrend started the game on the mound, and Joe Rechtenbaugh pitched three innings of relief.
