Dell Rapids 16U scored eight runs in the first two innings in a 14-4 win over Tri-Valley Maroon on Tuesday, June 18th.
After holding Tri-Valley scoreless in the first two innings, Dell Rapids scored three runs in the first and five more in the second for an 8-0 lead. Tri-Valley got a run on the board in the top of the fourth, but Dell Rapids added five more in the bottom of the inning for a 13-1 lead. Tri-Valley scored three times in the third. Dell Rapids, however, scored a run in the bottom of the fifth to end the game on the 10-run rule.
Carson Maeschen had two hits, including a double, and two RBIs. Connor Hanson added a double and two RBIs. Gage Bunkers and Jack Paterson both had a single and two RBIs each. Ryan Stubbe and Kenny Swanson each had a single and an RBI. Jackson Peppel also had a single.
Peppel pitched 4 1/3 innings and allowed four runs, three earned, on four hits and three walks with four strikeouts. Bunkers pitched 2/3 of an inning walking one and striking out one.
