Dell Rapids PBR has dropped their previous two games. They lost to the Flandreau Cardinals on Sunday, June 9th and then fell to the Humboldt/Hartford Gamecocks on Tuesday, June 11th.
Flandreau Cardinals 3, Dell Rapids PBR 2
PBR took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning on an RBI double by Zach Puetz. The score remained 1-0 until the top of the ninth. Riley Hoffman scored on an error to give PBR a 2-0 lead. Flandreau cut the lead to 2-1 on an RBI sacrifice fly for the second. The Cardinals then took advantage of an error to tie the game 2-2. Two singles later the Cardinals earned the 3-2 walk-off win.
Brayden Pankonen and Weston Hansen each had two hits. Puetz had a double and an RBI. Drew Sweeter, Beau Behrend, and Riley Calhoon all had one single each. Pankonen pitched seven innings and allowed four hits and three walks with four strikeouts. D. Sweeter pitched 1 2/3 innings and allowed three runs, all unearned, on five hits with one strikeout.
Humboldt/Hartford Gamecocks 10, Dell Rapids PBR 4
The Gamecocks broke a 3-3 tie with a seven-run top of the eighth inning to ahead 10-3 before winning 10-4. Each team scored a single run in the third inning, and then both teams scored two runs each in the fifth inning. PBR had one more run in the bottom of the ninth.
D. Sweeter finished with two hits. Matt Gillogly had a single and two RBIs. Nate McKee added a single and an RBI. Calhoon, Hoffman, Hansen, and Will Jaton all had one hit each. Grant Sweeter pitched five innings and allowed three runs, two earned, on four hits and two walks with three strikeouts. Joe Rechtenbaugh pitched 1 1/3 innings and alllowed an earned run on a hit and two walks with three strikeouts. Tanner Solberg threw 2 2/3 innings allowing six earned runs no four hits and three walks.
