Quarrier Softball Wins Fourth Straight

Dell Rapids scored 11 of their 13 runs against Dakota Valley in the final two innings in a 13-3 win on Tuesday, May 14th.  The win was the fourth in a row for the Quarriers.

Claire Wynja started the scoring for Dell Rapids with a two-run home run in the top of the first inning.  The Panthers took the lead, 3-2, with three runs in the bottom of the second.  The score remained 3-2 until the top of the fifth inning.  Lexi Ingalls had a home run to start the fifth to tie the game.  Kylie Lebahn had a bases-loaded walk to give Dell Rapids a 4-3 lead.  Katie Kvigne then followed with a grand slam home run putting the Quarriers ahead 8-3.  Dell Rapids added five more runs in the top of the fifth.

Kvigne had two home runs and five RBIs.  Wynja added two hits, one a home run, and two RBIs.  Kylee Fiddelke finished with a double and home run and an RBI.  Jaycee Tebay had two singles.  Makaylah O’Meara had a home run and three RBIs.  Ingalls also had a home run and an RBI.  Lebahn added a single and an RBI.  Rylee Halverson finished with a single.  Kvigne pitched six innings and allowed three earned runs on seven hits with two strikeouts.
