Dell Rapids Girls Break Back into Win Column

The Dell Rapids Quarrier girls broke back into the win column with a 58-33 victory on the road against the Baltic Bulldogs on Monday, January 29th.

Dell Rapids seemed poised to get that second win from the very start.  The Quarriers got on an early roll and rode that to a 20-8 lead after the first quarter.  The momentum carried throughout the rest of the game.  The Quarriers extended their lead to 36-14 by halftime and 49-22 going into the third quarter.  They had a 29-point lead at one point in the fourth quarter.

Dell Rapids shot 35% (22-62) overall in the game, 27% (6-22) from three-point area, and 53% (8-15) from the free-throw line.  Baltic finished the game shooting 18% (8-45) overall, 14% (1-7) from three-point area, and 64% (16-25) from the free-throw line.  The Dell Rapids defense was tenacious all night forcing 22 Bulldog turnovers, 12 of those coming on steals.

Jersi Schultz finished with 12 points, 10 rebounds, three blocked shots, two assists, and two steals.  Mya DeStigter had 11 points and two rebounds.  Rorie Thoreson added 10 points, four rebounds, five assists, and three steals.  Elly Ohlson had seven points, five rebounds, and three assists.  Shelby Welbig ended with six points, five rebounds, and two steals.  Clara Justice had four points, six rebounds, three assists, and three steals.
