The Dell Rapids Quarriers won their third straight game after a 59-40 victory over the Elkton-Lake Benton Elks on Tuesday, January 23rd.
After a 9-9 tie, Dell Rapids went on an 8-0 run to end the first quarter for a 17-9 lead. The run continued into the second quarter when Dell Rapids scored the first three points to extend the lead to 20-9. The Quarriers would end the first half with a 34-19 lead. Dell Rapids built a 20-point lead, 42-22, with 4:40 to play in the third quarter. The Elks cut the lead to 46-33 by the end of the third quarter. The Quarriers responded with an 11-3 run for a 57-36 advantage with 4:30 to go in the game. Dell Rapids was able to cruise from there for the win.
The Quarriers shot 47% (21-45) overall, 25% (3-12) from three-point area, and 67% (14-21) from the free-throw line. Elkton-Lake Benton shot 29% (12-42) overall, 38% (8-21) on three-point attempts, and 8-9 from the free-throw line.
Jack Henry had 18 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Rhett Kloth finished with 14 points, seven rebounds, and two blocked shots. Treyse Eastman added 12 points, two assists, and two steals. Cole Ruesink had seven points, six rebounds, four steals, and two assists.
