The Dell Rapids Quarriers hosted the Deubrook Area Dolphins on Tuesday, October 10th. The Quarriers rolled past the Dolphins in straight sets by scores of 25-6, 25-22, and 25-20.
Dell Rapids jumped out to a 6-2 lead early in the first set. They extended the lead to 9-3 before going on a big run. Dell Rapids scored 12 in a row for a 21-3 lead and took the win 25-6. The Quarriers started the second set on a 5-0 run. The Dolphins cut the lead to 11-10, but Dell Rapids responded with a 7-1 run to lead 17-11. Deubrook got the set tied 22-22, and then Dell Rapids went on a 3-0 run for the 25-22 win.
The Quarriers started the third set on a 5-2 run, but Deubrook tied the set 6-6. The score was tied again 9-9, and then the Dolphins scored the next three points for a 12-9 advantage. The Dolphins were still in front 17-15 before Dell Rapids went on a 6-0 run to take the lead 21-17. That run was enough to spark the 25-20 win.
Madelynn Henry had 21 kills and five digs. Sophi Randall finished with 31 set assists, six digs, six kills, and two blocks. Elin Schoenhard and Lauryn Kloth both had five kills and two digs each. Kylee Fiddelke had four kills, eight digs, and two ace serves. Alaina Wolff finished with 10 digs, four set assists, and three ace serves.
