Dell Rapids PBR got behind by six runs early and their rally fell short in Lennox on Thursday, June 29th. Lennox was able to hold for a 7-6 win.
Lennox scored a run in the bottom of the first, one in the second, and four in the third for a 6-0 lead. PBR got on the board with four runs in the fifth. Weston Hansen reached on an error that scored two runs. Tanner Solberg had an RBI single, and Grant Sweeter also had an RBI single to cut the lead to 6-4. Lennox got another run in the bottom of the sixth to make the score 7-4. Riley Hoffman reached on an error that scored a run, and Conner Spindler had an RBI sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth, but that was as close as PBR could get.
Hansen had a hit and two RBIs. Sweeter and Solberg each had a single and an RBI. Hoffman finished with two hits, including a double. Riley Calhoon had two hits. Brett Mogen and Trey Randel each finished with a single, and Spindler had an RBI. Randel pitched eight innings and allowed seven earned runs on 10 hits and six walks with five strikeouts.
