The annual “Take Me out to the Ballgame” night held during Quarry Days in Dell Rapids was played on Friday, June 23rd at Rickeman Field between Dell Rapids PBR and the Dell Rapids Mudcats. This year the Mudcats won the annual game by a score of 10-0.
The Mudcats jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead with five runs in the bottom of the first inning. They added another run in the second, three in the fourth, and one more in the sixth. PBR was held to just three hits in the game.
Teagan Schlimgen and Brad Donovan each had a double for PBR. Weston Hansen had the other hit. Trey Randel took the loss on the mound.
For the Mudcats, Carter Gullickson finished with four hits. Ty Hoglund had two hits, one a home run, and an RBI. Kole Zimmerman also had two hits, one a home run, and three RBIs. Trevor Freudenthal had two hits, one a double, with an RBI. Dalton Lehnen had two hits. Mark Abrahamson, Landon Ruesink, and Grant Olson all had one hit each. Lehnen pitched six innings allowing three hits with 12 strikeouts. Austin Henry pitched the last inning and allowed three walks and had three strikeouts.
