The Dell Rapids Phils won their first home game of the season and fifth straight on Monday, June 12th. Dell Rapids defeated Madison 11-2.
Madison got a run in the top of the first, but was then held scoreless until the fifth. CJ Smith had an RBI sacrifice bunt, Aiden Boechler had an RBI triple, Joe Rechtenbaugh hit an RBI sacrifice fly, and Konrad Richeal drew a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the first to give Dell Rapids a 4-1 lead. Boechler added an RBI ground out in the bottom of the second. The lead grew to 7-1 in the bottom of the third after a two-run single by Dylan Kindt.
Will Jaton had an RBI double in the bottom of the fourth to make the score 8-1. Madison got an RBI ground out in the top of the fifth. The Phils got their last three runs in the bottom of the fifth. Kindt had an RBI double, Brayden Pankonen had an RBI single, and Smith scored no an error.
Kindt had three hits, two of them doubles, and three RBIs. Pankonen had three hits and an RBI. Boechler finished with two hits and two RBIs. Jaton added two hits, one a double, and an RBI. Rechtenbaugh had a single and RBI. Micah Pickard finished with a double. Smith and Richeal both had an RBI. Pankonen pitched seven innings and allowed two runs, both unearned, on seven hits with four strikeouts.
