The Dell Rapids 16U baseball team scored early and often in a 19-6 win over Garretson on Friday, June 9th.
Dell Rapids scored two runs right away in the bottom of the first inning. They added eight more in the bottom of the second for a 10-0 lead. Garretson closed the gap with a six run top of the third. Dell Rapids would get five of those runs back in the bottom of the inning to push the lead to 15-6. Their final four runs game in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Tad Tjaden had two hits, one a double, and four RBIs. Matt Nelson had two hits and three RBIs. Kenneth Swanson finished with a double and two RBIs. Connor Hanson had a single and two RBIs. Quinn Carr added a double and an RBI. Parker Zweifel had a hit and an RBI. Lincoln Fersdahl finished with two RBIs. Hanson pitched two innings and allowed six runs, two earned, on three hits and four walks. Carr pitched two innings allowing a hit and three walks with five strikeouts. Fersdahl threw an inning walking one and striking out two.
