After playing a couple of exhibition games in Oklahoma at the end of March, the Dell Rapids (0-1) high school club baseball team got on the field for their first regular season game on Friday, April 14th. Dell Rapids traveled to Lennox, but Lennox took the win 5-0.
Lennox put pressure on Dell Rapids with three early runs in the bottom of the first inning. They added another run in the bottom of the second for a 4-0 lead. The score remained 4-0 until the bottom of the sixth. Lennox added one more run in the sixth.
Dell Rapids was held to five hits in the game. Brayden Pankonen had two hits. Jack Henry, Will Jaton, and Drake Eastman all had a single as well. Eastman pitched four innings and allowed four runs, two earned, on three hits and three walks with six strikeouts. Pankonen pitched two innings and allowed an earned run on four hits and a walk with five strikeouts.
